Stand-Up Treat Bags

Dog treats are fatty. Liver, salmon, cheese and jerky all push oil outward from the inside, and that is a completely different problem from the one most food packaging is designed for. An oxygen barrier keeps air out; it does nothing about fat working its way through a laminate from the wrong side.

So these are built with a grease-resistant inner layer. Without one you get the failure everybody in this category recognises: a dark translucent patch spreading up the front of the bag, ink softening over it, and eventually the laminate lifting at a seam.

The second half is the closure. A treat bag is opened and closed several times a day, often by somebody holding a lead in the other hand. We specify a zipper rated for repeated use rather than the cheapest press-to-close, because a bag that stops sealing on the fourth opening has made the whole barrier pointless.
